FRESH/LICKS // GIRL BAND – THE CHA CHA CHA

A single of 25 seconds? That can only mean one thing: Record Store Day is creeping up and limited special editions are flooding your local record store. Maybe overpriced but many of them worth collecting, at least when you have some money to spare. Girl Band are releasing a follow-up to their track ‘Lawman’ – The Cha Cha Cha, it will be available as a flexidisc presented in wooden boxes via their label Any Other City for Record Store Day, limited to 100 copies only.

Dara says about the track: “‘The Cha Cha Cha’ is lyrically inspired by a Sam Cooke track (Everybody Loves To Cha Cha Cha). In that track Sam Cooke goes up to a girl and gets her to dance with him in a very smooth manner. Our track is taking the girl’s point of view in a modern context were the girl is having absolutely none of that lad’s effort and starts laughing at his awkward ways. A sad truth.”
