KBShimmer Winter Collection

Good morning!

I've been working on swatches of the newest KBShimmer Winter Collection all last week and over the weekend, trying to capture how utterly glittery some of the shades are. Today, I have eight colors from that collection to show you and there's a brand new kind of glitter in one of them that is particularly interesting.

Turnip The Beat. Two coats. This magenta textured polish is jam packed with glitter in berry hues. It really makes me want punch for some reason.

Too Cold To Hold. Two coats. This blue jelly is textured but I think it looks phenomenal with topcoat as well. There's various shades of blue, but also small accent glitter in warmer tones. Also nice size variation in this glitter.

Dressed To Gild. Two coats. Initially, this glittery textured polish looks just gold, but if you take a closer look you'll notice that lime green and lilac purple glitter accent this polish in a very subtle way. I think it takes it from a stark yellow gold glitter and gives it more dimension. It's so much more than plain gold holo glitter, you know?

Snow Way! Two coats, plus dabbing. This baby blue crelly is contains white satin glitter and a sprinkle of holo dust. Definitely something I'd wear I start to miss snow. Repromoted shade.

Sugar Plum Faerie. Two coats, plus dabbing. This might be my favorite out of the entire collection. A warm plum jelly with lime, magenta and violet glitter. Who knew that lime could pop so much?

Deja Brew. Two coats. This brown holo has more of a creme base than metallic or jelly. It's a mahogany brown and quite a bit warmer than any other brown holo that I own.

Spot Sign. One coat over KBShimmer Radiant Orchid. This is the unique glitter I was talking about! Leopard spot glitter, how crazy is that? I did have to quite a bit of dabbing to get the glitter to lay down in the most optimal way. They do better lengthwise, rather than fighting the curve of your nail. I also needed two coats of topcoat to really smooth it all over. It also contains dot glitter and holo dust.

Fallen Angle. Two coats, plus dabbing. The name of this blue jelly cracks me up! It reminds me of when I saw a "Fallen Angle" costume right around this time last year. I love a good pun. This royal blue contains triangular glitter with smaller hexes.

The textured polishes are jam packed with glitter, so you may need a drop or two of thinner to get a nice even application on your nail. The other finishes were quite good though, the dabbing is really to place glitter exactly where you want it on the nail. My favorites were Sugar Plum Faerie and Dressed To Gild because I simply don't have colors like those in my collection. I love that even though I've accumulated hundreds of polishes, KBShimmer continues to create new shades that are unique and unlike anything else I own.
