As Day One of my Fall 2013 PFW RTW is coming to a close, so far, I can safely report the following:
The Highlights • The safe, but promising start of
Wang at
Balenciaga, that left us believeing, or at least hoping, that he has what it takes to become the new "master of us all."
• The use of monochrome. It's all black and white out there, as far as the eye can see.
• The exquisite decor at
Dior, oversized bubbles and all.
• The
NUE 19.04 leather jacket, in all its butter-y feel and color. Courtesy of
Dimensione Danza & Danza Boutique.
• The return to a more innocent time of fun and freedom, as the one depicted by our beloved
Alber Elbaz. Male ushers serving popcorn, and mini bottles of Champagne are just an added bonus.
The Shadows • As Palahniuk once said, “just for the record, the weather today is calm and sunny, but the air is full of bullshit.”
The Conclusion It seems that Fashion is desperatly gasping for a breath of fresh air. And if we allow it, Fashion might just get to achieve its higher purpose.
