Chic at Cartier

Since we're talking about men and masculine design this week, let me add one more post to the mix. The Cartier Mansion at 653 Fifth Avenue is closed for renovation so I stopped by the new Cartier boutique at 767 Fifth Avenue at 59th Street last week for a preview. Obviously, we all know Cartier for their gorgeous jewelry and watches but even I was surprised by the beautiful leathergoods, especially the ones for men..
How chic would this Louis Cartier 24 Hour Bag look in the backseat of your vintage Mercedes convertible for a weekend in the country? Ok, maybe you don't have a vintage Mercedes convertible but you might have to get one to accompany this bag. It's that amazing. The buckle on the side is inspired by the clasp on a watch so maybe you should also pick up a Cartier watch to complete the ensemble.
I saw a billfold that looked similar to this Must de Cartier Pocket Diary at the brocante in the Marais on my last trip to Paris. I'm kicking myself for not buying it so I'm glad they still make similar pieces. I'd also be pretty impressed if a man wrote down our date in this diary instead of on his iPhone.
Let's face it, a lot of iPad cases are not chic. This Collection les Must Tactile Tablet Holder had me at hello. There is an envelope on the outside that would be perfect for pens or receipts while traveling to say, I don't know, Paris for the summer. If anyone still needs any last minute ideas on what to get me for my birthday this week, this would do nicely. While these Cartier items might be made for men, they are also pretty perfect for ladies too.

Just so we're clear, this is a completely editorial post and has not been sponsored, although I did get a chic bottle of Cartier champagne at the preview.
