We’ve all seen photos of Pauline de Rothschild’s home in Paris but the November 2014 issue of World of Interiors has some that have never been seen before. I didn’t realize that the ground floor apartment was only four rooms and that Pauline designed quite a few pieces of the furniture including the steel and brass bed above. After looking at the photos that were taken by Horst in 1969 again, I realized how timeless the pared down design looks to this day.
I don’t remember seeing “the workroom” before and it’s now my favorite. The desk is a piece of wod edged with two inches of polished silver. Pauline
Pauline designed this daybed with a steel bedframe and moveable screens was inspired by a piece owned by Marie-Antoinette.
