A little pub on the corner in the back streets of Paddington.

The Aussie in me loves a Sunday roast. The whole roast pork belly took that love to a whole new level.

The guys had been talking about this pork experience at Four in Hand since one of them had it for his birthday a few years back, so it was definitely time to go back – and this time bring the girlfriends along too.

I’ve never seen a food platter that big – it took 2 people to carry it and they looked like they were struggling. No surprise, really… It was completely full of huge chunks of pork with some of the best crackling I’ve ever eaten. The pork was surrounded by perfectly cooked roast potatoes, parsnips and pumpkins and accompanied with jugs of gravy, pots of pesto and apple sauce. I was in flavour country.

You have to book this pig 24 hours in advance and it does cost $350 – which apparently feeds 10 people. We had 17 people and this (with a few sides) was enough to fill us up without that awful “oh god I’ve eaten too much” feeling.

This is a really good way to spend Sunday lunch with your friends and I’m looking forward to going again soon. Or maybe to try the “Dan Hong approved” suckling pig at the restaurant upstairs.
