tuesday beauty: Lime Crime Velvetine in Wicked

Hello and happy Tuesday! Sorry this post is a bit late and I've been a bit slack with my posting. I was a bit rundown and had a rash on my arms and face and that is not conducive to much at all, really!

Still, much better now. I bought Lime Crime's Wicked Velvetine just before I went away, and it shipped when I was back so I probably could have waited till I returned, but I wanted to make sure I got it before it sold out. Lime Crime's Velvetines in Red Velvet and Pink Velvet are basically my favourite lip sticks of All. Time. and I've been looking for a very dark red for ages – literally years – so when I saw they had this darker red coming out, I was very excited. (It's ok, Babycat wasn't as excited and she didn't sniff or lick or bite the wand! She just gave it a stern look.)

And I am happy to say it is AWESOME! There was a tiny worry at the back of my mind that it might be too purple/blue, which wasn't what I was looking for, and then when it arrived and I opened it I thought it might be too dark pink-y-ish, but I needn't have worried about either. It is a perfect, for me, very dark wine-y red with pink undertones, although I do find it a bit lighter than in the website pics. But. Love it.

One thing I've noticed is that the texture of it is a little different to my Red and Pink Velvelts; it's a tiny bit thinner, and feels a bit stickier. It also doesn't last in the same way as those first two do. But please, do note that I am being *extremely* picky about this. It is still SO good, and I will definitely be buying it again when this one runs out – although they seem to last for ages. I bought two Red Velvets way back when, and am still on the first tube even after using it as my go-to everyday lip stick as much as I have. So. Praises for this sung loudly!
