Finally Slowing Down

Well howdy strangers! I guess I took a bit of a blogging hiatus this summer (and spring)! I've been keeping myself busy, for the most part, but I also had a lot of lazy evenings when I couldn't peel myself away from catching up on past seasons of Breaking Bad. (Can you believe it's almost over?!)

My 9 to 5 has kept me incredibly busy, although I'm not traveling for work as much as I was in the spring. By the time I get home, my mind is mush, so typing up a blog post that doesn't sound like a bunch of gibberish seems an impossible feat!

We've had several busy weekends in the garden, working through the ups and downs of organic gardening. We're cleaning it up for the fall/winter season soon, so that will free up some time. I plan to post a blog series about all of the things I discovered through the process - who knew it would be so much work!

I haven't done much crafting for my Etsy shop lately, except for the few made-to-order hoop sales. My glow-in-the-dark nursery hoop and dandelion pouf are still pretty popular. I had hoped to have at least one craft show under my belt by the end of summer, but it doesn't appear that will happen. Maybe in the fall.

I suppose the biggest thing that kept me away, (besides my new obsession with the Simpsons Tapped Out game) is that this has been the longest and warmest summer Seattle has had in many years! I'm so glad we took the time to clean up the back patio and add furniture, we had a lot of awesome evenings outside, reading and relaxing. Lots of salads fresh from the garden. And lots of quick trips to the beach!

In spite of all this, I am ready for the cooler weather of the fall, rainy weekends, jeans with boots, and scarves. Bring it on! It's been a lovely summer, Seattle, but I am just not used to it.

Are you enjoying your summer? Are you looking for to fall?
