Antwerp food favorite: Wattman

It was love at first sight between Wattman and myself, if not for the simple reason that I can sing this name perfectly on the Batman tune. Other than that, this lovely spot is located in an area where you can find the most beautiful houses in Antwerp. I’m not exaggerating, each and every one of these Horta-style houses with fairytale gardens and porches is a dream come true (and yes, I want to live there – where is my lottery ticket?), but let’s talk food now. Wattman is one of my favorite spots to go during sunny spring or summer days, since it means their terrace with multicolored chairs is open for business. There’s a lot of space, so getting a seat without reservation isn’t too difficult and this spot guarantees the last rays of sun on your face when it’s setting for the day. They have a nice selection of food, from the Wattburger (which I’ve ordered too many times) to salads, wraps and yummy sweet ‘n sour ribs. You can even go here for breakfast, but I’m one of those people who prefers to have that at home (since I can’t face people or the real world without having coffee first) so I’ve never been during that time of the day. Wattman is easily one of my favorites in my neighborhood, a place where I like to enjoy my sparkling wine and the setting sun too.
