How to make the easiest no-sew curtains ever

I hope you enjoyed part one and part two my home tours last week! I wanted to share with you my bedroom no-sew curtains.

I have a problem sometimes finding curtains where the pattern has exactly the colors I like.

Many times I have fabric I like, but a cringe at the idea of having to drag my sewing machine out for one project.

That’s where these little babies come in.

Drapery Clip Rings

You can clip any piece of fabric to them and it make changing them out a breeze.

You just want to make sure when you buy them they are the right size, and are going to slide easily on your existing rods.

To make floor length panels, you need to just decided on the length and get the appropriate yardage.

For the width, it depends on the width of your window, but a general rule is you want 1/3 more fabric than the size you need so your drape isn’t tight or flat when you pull it closed.

Here’s where a little math comes in(my arch nemesis), but it’s not as hard as it seems.

So if your window half is 36 inches, you want an extra 18 inches per panel for a total of 54 inches. Most fabric widths are either 45 inches or 54 inches (Some decorators fabrics are wider, but more expensive!).

So buy the 54 inch width and as much length as you need for each panel. Hot glue, fabric glue or use fusible webbing for the top and bottom edge. I leave my sides as the selvedge edge so there’s no work there and no one even notices.

And add your clips and hang!

Didn’t I say it was easy?
