Celebrating the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival!
Last year’s Melbourne Fashion Festival was so much fun that I thought I’d bring you a bit of fashion week action again this year. The Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (formerly known as the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival) will kick off on Monday and it’s going to be an exciting week!
My coverage of the event will be different from last year. I’m not involved with L’Oreal Paris this year so I won’t be able to cover the fashion shows this year (no more front row action for me. Drats ) and it wouldn’t be as intense. But no biggie, between you and me, I’m far more interested in going backstage anyway. That’s where the show really begins!
I’m fortunate to be able to go backstage to see all the hair action with L’Oreal Professional this year so I’ll be able to show you what goes on in there. I covered a lot of makeup looks for last year’s fashion festival but nothing about hair, so this time, it’s going to be about hair. And if I get to sneak in some makeup action, oh you know this girl is going to try by hook or by crook.
Last year’s Melbourne Fashion Festival
As I’m not going to be covering much of the fashion festival like I did last year, I thought I’d do a week of brand focus on L’Oreal Paris by showing you some of their latest products. Y’know, just to celebrate the biggest consumer event in the world and that consumer event is just at my backyard (okay, it’s Melbourne, but I do call it home so it’s a part of my backyard. )
Just a bit of a disclaimer about the brand focus (which I will state again in related posts) – they’re not sponsored. Whatever I cover about L’Oreal and the fashion festival will be on my own. The products were sent to me for editorial consideration and what better time to tell you what they are and what I think of them during a L’Oreal fashion week, eh?
