5 Fab Ways To Use Josie Maran’s 100% Pure Argan Oil Light Ultra Lightweight Moisturising Oil

My last review on a Josie Maran product wasn’t too savoury but when you’ve been looking forward to trying one specific item from the brand for so long only to found out how disappointing it was … you know what I mean, right? Having said that, there was one more item that I was pretty keen to get my hands on and one that turned out to be very satisfactory, and that’s the 100% Pure Argan Oil Light Ultra Lightweight Moisturising Oil.

When I checked the Josie Maran shelves out at Kit Cosmetics when they were first launched, I was only supposed to buy just a lipstick but after testing the Argan Oil Light out, I decided to put it in my shopping basket too. Tsk tsk, such dangerous purchases, no?

There are two versions of the argan oil at Josie Maran. One is the Regular version and the other is the Light and I thought I’d give the Light a go as I’d like to be able to use it not only on my hair but also my face. After using the Pure Argan Oil Light for a couple of months, it’s a good time to let you know how I went with it.

The Pure Argan Oil Light is a very lightweight form of dry oil that absorbs very quickly onto the skin. It leaves only the tiniest hint of oily residue which disappears quickly and smells a tad nutty, which is actually surprisingly quite lovely especially since I’m not usually keen on those sort of fragrances.

After using the Pure Argan Oil Light for a while, here are 5 great uses that make this product a swell multitasker.

1. Hair Oil
The Pure Argan Oil Light is very different from most argan oil products for hair because those are usually thick and viscous. The Pure Argan Oil Light on the other hand is a very light dry oil that doesn’t leave the hair feeling heavy or greasy at all. As I’ve short hair now, I find this much better to use than rich argan oil gel-types of hair leave-in products.

2. Face serum
Add a shot of hydration to your existing serum by mixing a cocktail of this with your favourite serum. I’ve been mixing a few drops of this with Paula’s Choice’s Antioxidant Serum daily. Hello boing boing skin!

3. Moisturiser
When I ran out of night cream, I used this as my night cream after a retinol serum. Again, it’s incredibly lightweight yet moisturising and doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy or oily, even for my combination skin. It leaves my skin feeling very nourished. Having said that, using it a a moisturiser alone during winter wouldn’t be rich enough so I wouldn’t recommend this as a winter moisturiser unless you have very oily skin.

4. Body oil
The Pure Argan Oil Light leaves a lovely sheen on the skin when used as a body moisturiser. Perfect for the showing-legs-off summer!

5. Cuticle oil
I’ve also been using the Pure Argan Oil Light as a cuticle oil and works just as well as my existing cuticle oils.

As you can see, the Pure Argain Oil Light is a great multi-purpose oil that can be used, literally, from top to toe. While the packaging isn’t conducive for travelling, if you do pack and secure it well, you can simply use one product in lieu of many and you wouldn’t have to pack that much toiletries and hair products.

It’s definitely worth checking out. I’m not usually a big fan of such oils but I have to say, this one’s really good.

Josie Maran’s 100% Pure Argan Oil Light Ultra Lightweight Moisturising Oil retails at AU$58.00 for 50ml and is available at Kit Cosmetics and the Mecca website. It’s US$48.00 in Sephora so after factoring in the current currency exchange, there’s little difference in price, which is a very good thing.

What I like about it: It’s a great multitasking dry oil that can be used in many different ways. It’s incredibly lightweight and doesn’t leave any oily residue on the skin and hair.

What I do not like about it: Surprisingly? Nothing.

Have you tried out the Pure Argan Oils from Josie Maran? Your thoughts? Yay or nay?
