On-The-Go Snacks Video

As much as I try to focus on getting solid breakfasts, lunches and dinners into my family’s bellies everyday, serving up snacks I feel good about can be more challenging. I simply focus more on cooking meals than I do snacks — they’re almost an afterthought — and so I tend to put less time into planning them. However, my kids usually want them, especially after school. While grabbing a bag of chips, a pre-packaged power bar or even a frozen treat from the ice cream truck can all be easy between-meal go-to’s for many parents, are there snack choices that are just as easy on us parents but at the same time nutritious? Indeed there are, and this easy On-The-Go Snacks video will give you all kinds of simple snack ideas and tips you may never have thought of before.

As much as I try to focus on getting solid breakfasts, lunches and dinners into my family’s bellies everyday, doing the same with snacks I feel good about serving can be more challenging. Even though I often give my kids a second try at eating their lunch immediately after school (if there’s any remaining), they still almost always ask if I brought them a snack as well. Over the past month, when it’s been hovering around 90 degrees here every day, I’ve been bringing along a tiny cooler bag when I pick-up the kids packed with Bright Green Smoothies in to-go cups, Mamma Chia squeezes or Strawberry Yogurt Ice Pops, but as the weather gets cooler I’ll start opting for little bags of Whole Wheat Cheddar Crackers (my version of healthier goldfish crackers), mixed nuts and pumpkin or sunflower seeds. The best part about the last few treats I mentioned is that you can keep many of them in your car, so you’ll always have something on hand no matter how crazy your day gets.

There are so many ways to make snack time fun and exciting for your kids while also being easy for you. Watch this On-the-Go Snacks Video and see what I’m talkin’ about!
