I Need A Guide Creating art from flowers is not considered a revolutionary medium (as some of my
previous posts have revealed) but, one cannot ignore the beauty behind each artists' creation. Malaysian artist,
Lim Zhi Wei (AKA: Limzy), has created a wonderfully delicate series using a mix of fresh flowers and watercolor paints. Her inspiration came as a result of a birthday gift to her grandmother.
She states, "
I pressed some rose petals and made her a bookmark with a painted girl wearing a petal dress. That's how the floral works started."
Her creations appear effortless but a lot of care and custody go into her artwork. She curates her floral selection carefully to ensure she uses the freshest batches possible. Sometimes she has to beat the clock (before the flowers wilt) to make her pieces come alive and have them photographed to
"freeze that moment." She founded the
#instaartmovement on IG to showcase everyday objects in a fun and simple manner. As her
IG profile states, "art isn't meant only on walls and high end galleries."
