Makeup, Beauty and Fear.

Happy Friday Ladies.

Today I wanted to talk to you about a subject that has been on my mind a lot lately.

That subject is makeup, beauty and fear.

Celebrities with tons of plastic surgery, airbrushed bloggers who just woke up like this and just a lack of realness in general.

As a makeup artist and beauty blogger I obviously adore makeup and I have for as long as I can remember.

Lately however I see a lot of people using it more as a way to be accepted, or as a escape from themselves than as the fun thing it’s meant to be.

Makeup and beauty products are for fun, not fear.

So when I saw the new song by Colbie Caillet I just feel in love with the message.

Take a moment to listen to it here.

The message being we don’t have to try so hard.

Remember it’s truly what’s inside that counts and all the beauty products in the world won’t be able to make you look good if you have a lack of self confidence.

So go ahead and rock your full face of makeup, falsies and whatever else it is you want, because girl you know I will.

Just make sure you’re doing it for yourself and noonee else.

Because at the end of the day you should be able to look yourself in the mirror without any of it and love what you see.

I couldn’t have done that at 15 or 25, but thankfully I’ve come along way and now that I’m in my 30s I can honestly say I do.

How about you?

Hope you all have an amazing weekend.

Oh and can we please all vow to stop with the #iwokeuplikethiselfies where we’re wearing tons of makeup?

I mean if your “makeupless” selfie is better than the ones coming from the supermodels, who if we’re being honest are probably wearing a little something themselves, then girl we know you didn’t just wake up like that haha.

Here’s to keeping it real.

Best,

Leigh
