Current Obsession: Seneca Eyewear
How many pairs of shades does one really need? If we're judging by the selfies and street style shots of blogdom's leading ladies, that number would be somewhere in the double digits. Which means my own meager sunglasses wardrobe (one pair of tortoiseshell Pradas, one pair of knock-off Wayfarers bought at the Savannah, Georgia airport) is in need of a serious upgrade. So I should probably just go ahead and buy all of Seneca's cool, clean-lined styles.
The new eyewear e-tailer takes a page from the Warby Parker playbook (a direct-to-consumer model, a handy free home try-on system) but the brand's urbane aesthetic is all its own. Seven essential styles—ranging from the classic, square-framed Gary ($100) to the round, groovy Vernon ($100)—each come in an array of sophisticated finishes, and retail for a gloriously reasonable $100 to $120.
What's that, you say? You want to see the world through rose-colored glasses? No problemo. Each pair of Seneca's acetate shades can be customized with tinted polarized lenses (choose from yellow, blue, green, red and pink). I'm thinking a pair of black matte Neros ($120) with bottle-green lenses will round out my sunnies stash quite nicely.
