China Glaze Hologlam part III

Today I have you the four remaining China Glaze shades from the Hologlam collection! Like I mentioned in yesterday's post, Hologlam is easy to divide into pinks, blues and misc. colors. Needless to say, today is all about the blues! ;)

Don't Be A Luna-Tic - 2 coats
Don't Be A Luna-tic is a pale blue, I would like to say with a hint of green in it. It is quite sheer on the first coat but it does build up nicely and two coats were enough for opacity. The holo effect on this one is not very strong one, I was barely able to capture it on the pic of which I'm sorry about.

Sci-Fly By - 2 coats
Sci-Fly By is a medium tone blue which is fully opaque in two coats. I was afraid it would be just as dull as Don't Be A Luna-tic was but lucky me, the holo was fairly strong even though I wasn't able to capture it properly.

Take A Trek - 2 coats
Take A Trek is a lot darker version of Sci-Fly By. The holo effect on this one was quite lovely and I love the shade, even though it it a tricky one to describe! Is it a muted, dusty blue or what is it? Don't let my poor describing of color to turn you away from this one.

Strap On Your Moonboots - 2 coats
Strap On Your Moonboots is a gorgeous, gorgeous dark blue which on my swatch looks a bit more grayish than it actually is. The holo effect, needless to say, was fairly strong. I must say this is my definite favorite of the blue shades.

I must say I'm not too happy with the holographic effect on this half of the polishes and in general.Personally I prefered the "odd ones out" quartet of the collection as those were the most holographic of the bunch. THe blues and pinks were a bit of a disappointment in total, though there were few gems in the collection.

For the swatches I used regular basecoat, as I wanted to show how the holographic effect looked without Aqua Base. The swatches are also without a topcoat.

Now that you have seen swatches of all the polishes in Hologlam, what do you think? Was it a hit or a miss?
