If you’re lucky enough to grab a spot on the balcony overlooking Bondi Beach, you’ll have a great time at Vue Bar. It’s particularly stunning as the sun is setting, but really, with a view like this, it’s beautiful any time of day.
While there are a few dairy-based vegetarian options, the vegan options here are rather limited. Thankfully I wasn’t too hungry and was happy to have a salad. They veganized their Smoked Chicken, Pear, Avocado and Pine Nuts Salad by substituting the chicken with tomatoes for me ($12.50) and it was lovely. I didn’t ask, but it sounds like their Vegetarian Antipasto Platter, consisting of char-grilled eggplant, zucchini, sweet potato, marinated button mushrooms and mixed olives ($24) might be another vegan option.
I really liked their Garden of Eden cocktail – made with fresh pear Belvedere vodka, St-Germain Elderflower liqueur, Poire Williams, served long with a splash of soda ($15.50). I could have drank those all night!
Overall, the food, drinks and service were lovely but they’d get top marks with me if they offered more vegan options on their menu…
