Activities for Thanksgiving (Mrs Jump's class)

Hey Everyone! Once again I'm linking up with Blog Hoppin' to share some activities for Thanksgiving. This is going to be a LONG post because November is one of my favorite months so I have lots of things to share.

I love how the student above drew King James so big and the Pilgrims so small. Although, my little sweetie probably didn't do this intentionally I'm sure that is exactly how the Pilgrims felt.

Pilgrims and Thanksgiving

I just love how these adorable Pilgrims turned out! Each one is unique just like the child who created it. :) They are big... but I'm from Texas y'all!

For the writing they wrote about what they would take with them if they sailed on the Mayflower. I just love Kindergarten writing. Don't you? The last one is my favorite!

My cat Zoe because she is sweet.

My American girl doll because I love her.

My Ellie because I love her so "mush".
And my favorite..... cock your head to the right.... I don't know why Blogger does this! GRRR....

My granny's billy goat because she loves the billy goat. But first I would have to find it.
Isn't that sweet? She is thinking about her Granny instead of herself. Children have the sweetest little hearts!

We read, If I Sailed on the Mayflower in 1620 . We are charting some of the things we are learning on our Mayflower Voyage tree map. I hope to finish it tomorrow.

The kids made their own Mayflower and unscrambled a sentence.

Turkey Trouble Freebie!

We read the story, Turkey Trouble by Wendi Silvano and made Wanted signs for our turkeys. The students decided on a disguise and drew their turkey. Then, they had to decide what they would give as a reward. The students had to choose a reward that they could actually give. For example, 2,000 legos.

OOPS! That one should say, One I Pad.

I also have to shout out this unit by my sweet friend, Michelle! This is the perfect unit for teaching the kids about punctuation. It is obvious from the writing above that they need a little additional help in this area! LOVE it!
