Mooi en Lief x Calur Villade

This summer I had the opportunity to collaborate with Mooi en Lief, a Dutch brand that specializes in making wellington boots. They contacted me asking me to customize a pair of one of their boots in whatever way I desired. It's been a total blast, and I am so happy to share the final product with you guys! The boots you see before you are originally the Mooi en Lief Pirate boots, until they were hit with a few coats of paint and added embellishment. I was very inspired by the pastel colours of suburbia (more so the suburbia seen in movies, like Edward Scissorhands, where everything matches from the cars to the houses to the napkins, and where the grass is green and neatly cut) whilst working on this project. In addition I was really into the aesthetic of hand painted items, when lines aren't extremely precise and there are still brush strokes visible. I just think there's something really sweet about painting things by hand without using the aid of a ruler. I applied these ideas towards the boots and I love how they turned out. Below are some of the sketches I did for the project as well as my final photos of the boots!

I am supppeeeerrr excited to start sharing all of the stuff I have been doing and working on this summer. I will be posting about my recent trip to Paris during Paris Fashion Week soon. I am also back in London! It feels really great to be back and starting school again. I will definitely be posting the work that I will be doing throughout the year on the blog.
