NYX Butter Gloss Review, Swatches and Photos

The NYX Butter Gloss craze has been a hot topic on Youtube for a little while now. I know that NYX is available at some Target stores in Australia, unfortunately that’s not the case for my local Target That aside, I decided to be good (did I mention I’m trying to put myself on a shopping ban for a few months? I have more than enough goodies and makeup to blog and vlog about for another year, BUT I digress…) and wait till I was in the USA to try them out and decide whether I’d like them or not. Plus, if I liked them, I could buy them at their lowest price.

Clearly, I didn’t just like them, I LOVED them! I picked up Crème Brulee first as a test drive and wore that for a few days. And now…wow, I can completely understand the hype!

The NYX Butter Glosses apply just like any other lip gloss with a doe foot applicator. The formula from what I’ve seen are all crèmes, I haven’t seen any shimmer in the tubes I own. However unlike regular glosses, I find these to be quite a bit more pigmented, and can easily be worn alone whilst providing colour. No need to do any layering with another lipstick underneath. They leave my lips feeling soft, hydrated and polished. They aren’t overly tacky, though that doesn’t mean loose hair won’t stick to your lips if you don’t tie your hair up!

Can I just say however that the smell, oh the smell, is amazing! The smell reminds me of vanilla marshmallows, deliciously sweet! And I’m a bit of a sucker for anything sweet, so the smell is right up my alley.

As you can see, I soon returned to Ulta and went a little bit crazy… I am clearly well stocked for gloss for a very long time. At only $4.99USD, you really can’t go wrong even if you pick up a few of these so I do highly recommend that you give them a go! As mentioned, I purchased mine from Ulta, that’s only because I was travelling through the States. However if you aren’t, I know that Crush Cosmetics sells them for $10.95AUD each.
