Morelli's Gelato Caffe at Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong

I'm a dessert person, and I often find comfort in devouring a scoop, or two of premium gelato. My only gripe about this, has nothing to do with the quality of the gelato but more so with its presentation. I find it that the common paper cup serving of gelato hinders me from taking decent, mouth watering shots. That is, until the day that I came across Morelli's Gelato Caffe. #foodbloggerproblems

The Celestina 250.00PHP or 5.72USD. A gastronomic fairy tale of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla gelato topped with chocolate sauce, fresh bananas, strawberries, and generous whipped cream. Tastes as great as it looks, it was practically gone with the wind as my office mates inhaled this in a matter of minutes. Serving size is huuuge, I tell you. If you are like Joey who doesn't share his food ~FRIENDS fan here~, then it's perfectly okay. But since we were all girls, we all shared and basked under the glory of this behemoth.

Berry Pavlova Sundae 350.00PHP or 8.01USD. A heady combination of sharp summer berries, crumbly meringue, and smooth gelato. I opted for this because hello, raspberries! Sadly though, they were out of stock so we had it replaced with cherries and kiwi slices. Nevertheless, my heart was still captured and smitten by this beast. I love the refreshing flavor the tangy, wildberry-flavored gelato contributes to elevate this dessert further.
We noticed that they were terribly understaffed. Imagine 2 employees (if I recall correctly) running the counter, plus managing the to-go gelato orders and the dine in orders. This didn't stop them though from being efficient and delivering satisfactory customer service. Now, that's dedication that's admirable!
Prices might be off-putting at first, but trust me when I say that their portions are absolutely good for sharing. If you don't mind paying extra for the novelty of eating gelato in humongous, quirky glasses instead of with a boring paper cup, then you've found the gelato cafe you have been looking for. I don't know about you, but I'm a sucker for lovely presentation! See you on my next pig out session! :)
