Mad Mark's Creamery and Good Eats at Glorietta 5

Let's face it, online reviews are our savior when it comes to venturing out with new restaurant finds. But like with everything else, there are pros and cons on reading a review from someone you do not know and that their experience may vary from yours. Regardless of the peril, I summoned up my courage and dined at one of the newest (at least for me) restaurants to be, Mad Mark's.
Buffalo Roost. This was actually more of buffalo chicken than salad, which was very misleading because they've put it in their salad selections. Taste wise, the buffalo flavoring was overly powerful which was amplified even more by the blue cheese. It's not something I would order again, even if it was as a treat.

Steak and Frites (USDA Steak Herb Fries) 265.00PHP or 5.90USD. My friend's order, I only got to taste the fries but judging from what was left on her plate, it was pretty good. One thing I noticed is that you can't complain with their serving size.

Double Fried Yard Bird (2 Buttermilk Fried Chicken Red Rice) 265.00PHP or 5.90USD. They do know how to make great fried chicken, but the rice they paired it with just had too much seasoning that it steals the spotlight and sadly spoils the whole dish. It tends to get cloying after several spoonfuls.

Liquid Fudge Cheesecake with Half - Baked Madagascar. Look at how generous they are with their portions. This dessert is practically good for sharing, or not.

Rolling Dutchman (Dutch pancakes Madagascar vanilla ice cream Nutella) 150.00PHP or 3.34USD. This, finally saved the night for me. It makes for messy, sticky eating and definitely not a first date type of dessert but it was delicious and comforting nonetheless. I say, skip the meals and go straight for their desserts, but that's just me. My experience may vary from yours and I cannot gauge if you will enjoy it or resent your decision soon after. If it helps, their branch at Glorietta 5 is cramped, to say the least. My chair was getting bumped every time a waitstaff has to attend to the tables behind me. That's not even the cherry on top, you think a dinner couldn't get bad, well it can and it did.
I asked for the bill, which took forever to arrive. The bill of our next door diner neighbor even arrived first, to think they asked for it long after we did. I made a follow-up and the bill finally came, only to contain dishes we did not order. Soooo, we had the bill sent back and recomputed and while we were waiting, another waitstaff hands us another printout of the incorrect bill.
Can't they get their act together? Was it an off night? Was their service usually like that? If it is, you're better off wasting your money and piling up your calories elsewhere. After the dinner ended and everything was settled, I was only too glad to be finally out of there and probably would never set foot inside, ever again. How was your Mad Mark's experience?
