WHY I LIKE THIS PRODUCT
Finally, a whitening product that’s available in the mid-range affordable Western market! I love whitening products because I usually find them really great at fading away any acne scars. I’ve been using the White Lucent line by Shiseido for quite sometime now and I’m eager to see if this line by the Body Shop will be a more affordable alternative. This range contains ingredients of Shiso 紫蘇 (Perilla leaves), Vitamin C and Licorice. These all work together to prevent melanin related pigmentation on your skin.

This serum cost $36 CAD for 30 mL, which means it’s definitely “mid-range”. The texture is very lightweight and besides evening out skin tone it also provides moisture. I actually really enjoy the texture because it doesn’t leave an unbearable sticky feeling on my skin. (I like to pat down the serum with my hands instead of rubbing it in) I think it does a decent job at lightening my acne scars but I need something with a bit more moisture in it. So I would use another moisturizer after this serum has been completely absorbed into my skin.

Overall, I like this product for it is…a serum and not a moisturizer. I noticed my skin becoming a bit more luminous after I went through the entire bottle. But it doesn’t replace the White Lucent line for me and for $36 CAD, I would prefer to repurchase the Shiseido line instead because the results are more noticeable.
