Beauty Spotlight: Makeup

Dr Jart Regenerating Beauty Balm, £14 (RRP £21)

I've repurchased this twice now, which says it all really! I've never really bought into the BB/CC cream hype, as being pale-skinned means I'm always wary of the shade, but this beauty by Dr Jart has won me over. I bought it for ski holidays, since it has SPF30, and it meant that last year I managed to avoid the dreaded ski goggles tan whilst everyone else looked plain ridiculous. It might not suit darker skin tones, but it's really perfect for pale skin and covers blemishes and redness really well.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, £25

If you're looking for a product to create a silky smooth base for your foundation, this Smashbox primer is the one. I remember eyeing up Smashbox products when they were first stocked in Boots a few years ago, but this is actually my first purchase from the brand as they're quite expensive. It comes out as a clear gel and you only need to smooth on a pea-sized amount. I've noticed my foundation staying on for longer and just sitting much better on my skin since I started using it. Highly recommend this to those looking for a new primer!

Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation, £34

This has to be one of the most hyped foundations in the beauty blogging community, but it's for a good reason. This foundation gives your skin medium to full coverage with a glowing satin finish. It's not shimmery but it does leave your skin with that dewy glow that a lot of people seek. I'd say it was the perfect foundation for those with normal to dry skin, as I don't imagine it would stay too long on oily skin. Remember to use a pea-sized amount and apply with a sponge (the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge is my absolute favourite!).
