Cost Per Wear.

Get ready to be tired of seeing these sandals. They have suddenly become my staple daytime shoes because they are comfortable and seem to go with everything. I am hopeful this means that I mastered the concept of smart shopping. The day I purchased these I was at the Santa Monica Promenade and made the decision to cruise on by H&M in favor of stores like Anthropologie and Madewell knowing that the price tags would be higher, but the perhaps the pieces would last longer in my wardrobe. After browsing Anthropologie, I wasn’t finding anything that really stood out to me, seemed high quality, and worth the price tag. I had picked a top up off the sale rack because it was an additional 40% and would have amounted to about $15, but that wasn’t reason enough to purchase it. Then it was time to visit Madewell, who was also having a 40% off sale promo. (Anthropologie and Madewell were clearly conspiring against my wallet that day.) I spotted these sandals, sent a couple “what do you think of these?” texts, purchased them for $60, and strolled out of the store still trying to convince myself that it was an okay investment. Now, a week later, I know it was. The cost per wear on these babies is going to be pennies by the time I’m done with them.

Speaking of cost per wear, it’s hard to say exactly what I’m down to on this dress, but it’s safe to say that this is one of the oldest items in my wardrobe. It was purchased at Gap in summer of 2008 for either $59.50 or $69.50 (I can’t quite remember). At that time, the price was way more than I would have normally been willing to spend, but I really loved it and knew I would wear it all the time. Little did I know, I would still have it six years later. It makes me feel like such a lady.
