Winter is here! Stay Warm With Lands’ End

Nolie, 5 Minutes for Mom assistant, here to share how I am staying warm with Lands’ End. While I was provided with product to facilitate this review all views and opinions are my own.

Though I won’t admit my age I will say that my winter jacket was 15 years old when it sadly met it’s final day of winter last year, and was sent to the clothing graveyard. I miss my jacket and had no idea how I would ever replace it. So when Lands’ End reached out offering me a new winter coat, I spent hours combing through their large collection of jackets to find the perfect one.

Living in Canada is no joke unless you are Susan and Janice who live somewhere that it rains more than it snows in the winter. I live in Ontario which gets a crazy amount of snow. I tend to freeze all winter long and wear many layers under my jacket. So when I came across the Women’s Shimmer Down Parka I may have shrieked in delight. According to it’s temperature rating this jacket is good for up to -20F (-28C for us Canadians). Works for me as anything colder and I refuse to leave my house.

I arrived home from my my trip to Florida to find this waiting for me to try out. Coming from shorts and tanks and still sweating to near zero temperatures was a rude shock to my system. I put on the jacket and was toasty warm. Nolie approved but now for the real test. My mom!

My mom suffers from Fibromyalgia and can not handle to cold at all. Whenever she visits she can not stay outside for longer than 3 minutes as her back cramps up and shoots pain all over her body. Usually she will have on 3 layers and a blanket while in her wheelchair and can still not take the cold. Mom took off all her layers and put on the jacket then headed outside for the ultimate test. 10 minutes later mom was still standing outside and wasn’t running for the door to come inside.

The Women’s Shimmer Down Parka passed the test a little too well. My mom now wants one under the tree for herself come Christmas time.

Lands’ End has a huge selection of winter wear sure to fit your style and your needs. I know they have found themselves a new customer in me.
