Dermalogica testing day 2 (of many)

Hi everyone,

This is the follow up post to the first one in the series, if you’re curious about how I started click here to go to that post.

I’m going to continue where I left of yesterday evening with the products I used last night before bed:
Dermalogica – Special Cleansing Gel

This is a soap free foaming gel that’s recommended for all skin conditions. It lathered really well and I used it with my Clarisonic to really get a good cleanse. My skin did feel really clean afterwards.

The “nightcream” I used was the Dermalogica – Active Moist, which isn’t really suitable for my skintype because it’s for skin with excess oil production and I really have a normal to dry skin.

My skin isn’t dry persé but it really works well if I use my friend Iveenia’s magic oil at night. But since I’m testing ALL of my testers I will be using this, but remember that some of these products really need another skintype to shine. You can use the Active Moist day and night. Even though it’s oil free it does moisturize very nicely… at first, but when I coughed myself awake in the middle of the night and got some water in the bathroom I did reapply the rest of the sample simply because it felt like it needed a little bit extra, it wasn’t dry and tense, it just wasn’t as supple as I’m used to. I woke up with a new spot next to my nose :S

The products I used this morning are:
Dermalogica – Special Cleansing Gel

I used this again because there are about three uses in this sample so I thought I’d get a better feel of the product. It did clean very nicely again but this time I waited about 3 minutes before I applied the “next” product and my skin did start to feel a little tight.

It’s Saturday and I usually do some type of mask on the first day of the weekend and today is no different.
I used the Dermalogica – Daily Microfoliant which you’re supposed to use after cleansing.

This is a powder so no coughing or sneezing when opening this package

You need to add water to make a paste and then rub it onto the face with circular motions (avoiding the eye area). You can use this daily so it’s pretty gentile and it’s recommended for all skin conditions. It’s a rice based powder that activates when you add the water. (more info on the packet in the picture).
This felt soooo nice to apply, it was like a mini facial and I really enjoyed this massage I actually gave my skin.

The next product was to clean out my pores even more (I don’t like spots!), so I used the Dermalogica – Skin Refining Masque.

Which is another product recommended for skin with excess oil (which may not seem to be a smart idea, but it’s a clay mask and I’ve used this before and does work really nicely on my skin). It’s a skin clarifying mask that removes impurities and you only have to leave this on for ten minutes. I did think the sample was a bit stingy because it was enough for a very THIN layer and I’m sure you’re supposed to use more of this. This mask hardens and dries on the skin, here’s a tip for when you remove a clay or mud mask. Get a face cloth and soak it thoroughly, now pat that over all the places where you have the mask on your face. This will add in a bit of moisture that evaporated from the mask and now you can remove it easier when you wipe your face with the slighty less soaking wash cloth. My skin was now very very soft but also I felt it was in need of some moisture so I took the same one I used yesterday.

Dermalogica – Sheer Moisture SPF 15

This is soo nice this morning, I think all the Dermalogica products smell so clinical because they have no additives like fragrance. I thought I’d take a picture of my skin as it is right now to show you Day 2 (yes I’m wearing a shirt, a tube top).

The only non Dermalogica product I used is the Philosophy eyecream I always use.

I hope you guys have an amazing Saturday.
