Dermalogica Testing (day 4 of many)

Hi everyone,

It’s already day 4 of my Dermalogica testing and I still have many more products to try out. If you’re curious about previous days then click on Day 1, Day 2 or Day 3.

I’m starting to feel a little better today but I’m still coughing soo much that I still haven’t had a good night’s rest since I got this bug. Last night I cleansed with the same products as the night before so I’m going to talk about day 4 only in this post.

Today I tried some more new samples. Starting with the whole cleansing using Dermalogica – Dermal Clay Cleanser.

I just heard Lisa Eldridge speak about this cleanser so I picked it out to try it for myself.
This is recommended for skin with excess oil production. That really isn’t my skintype, but I thought I’d see how it went anyway. It’s deep cleansing for oily, congested skin. Well, that’s more my nose at the moment, will it help with that too?
I tried this whilst in the bath and I used it as directed, I applied it to a dampened face and throat and massaged it with light, upward strokes. I then rinsed with warm water and went on to repeat, that last thing wasn’t really a smart thing though. I felt immediate cooling and tingling when I applied the first time, but the second time it felt like burning and my eyes even began to water. This really wasn’t a product for me. It may be really good for oily skin, but I immediately removed it the second cleanse and used warm water first and then cool water to take away the stinging. Whoah this is powerfull stuff!

I thought my skin could probably use some extra care right about now so I picked a Dermalogica – Skin Renewal Booster from the pile of samples.

This is recommended for drier or prematurely-aging skin. Which I thought would be better then for oily skin.
This does have a hydroxy acid concentrate or Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid and Hibiscus Extract to exfoliate deal skin cells, revealing new skin and improving skin texture. I would recommend a patch test of this if you have sensitive skin just because of these acids. Vitamins A and C help reverse signs of photoaging while smoothing skin. My skin had calmed down pretty quickly so I just slapped a little of this on, and even though they do warn for mild stinging, I felt none again. I did really enjoy the feeling of a serum type product underneath my moisturizer again. No major changes in my skin today because of this product though, but I do think you need to test products for at least 6 weeks to see a real difference.

As my skincare I chose one with an SPF again, a new one of the Dermalogica – Sheer Moisture SPF 15 samples I’ve been using for the first three days.

I’m getting used to this moisturizer, but I do prefer my Philosophy – Hope in a jar moisturizer because my skin feels better at the end of the day when I wear that.

This night I cleansed with the same Dermalogica – Special Cleansing Gel I’ve been using the last couple of days again, but I finished the sachet today.

After that I used I used the Dermalogica – Active Moist as my nightcream again, I emptied this sachet too and applied a thick layer for the night.

You don’t need a thick layer, but because I’m blowing my nose every 2 seconds my skin around my nose is really suffering so I thought a little extra pampering wouldn’t hurt.

My eyecream is still by Philosophy.

Tomorrow’s testing can be uploaded a day late simply because my dad has surgery tomorrow and I’m not sure if I’m in the hospital visiting him tomorrow night or not.

Have a great day everyone.
