Hamster in a Dress

A few weeks ago I greeted one of my students when he came through the door. Two other students went into gales of giggles, so I asked them what was so funny. "You sounded like a hamster!" one said. "Oh, really?" I responded. "Yeah! You're like a hamster in a dress!" I told her I'd take that as a compliment. "It's NOT a compliment," she said, "but I like it." Cryptic, these modern youth.

I've been busy decoding these kinds of statements and doing craft shows every weekend since Thanksgiving, which hasn't given me much time for blogging. Annoying, since Christmas blogging is the best kind! So I'll try to cram in as much Christmas as I can for the next few days, starting with the original holiday hamster in a dress, Dolly Parton. This video is beyond disturbing, and not just because it features Kenny Rogers' original face. My wish for 2013: A new Dolly & Kenny Christmas special!
