DIY T-SHIRT WITH LACE CUFFS

An unexpected touch of lace turns an ordinary t-shirt into something special with this DIY T-Shirt with Lace Cuffs.

There’s nothing like a t-shirt, they’re comfortable, easy to wear and go perfect with most everything, but with a touch of lace this t-shirt really sets itself apart. I love having just the lace peek out from under a jacket. This could easily become my new go to t-shirt, it’s still super comfy but it looks a little more special than just a basic tee.

TOOLS & MATERIALS:

• Long sleeve t-shirt – mine’s from Uniqlo
• Lace – choose a soft lace with scalloped edge
• Scissors
• Needle & thread
• Pins

step 1
Turn your t-shirt inside out.

Decide how much lace you want to stick out of your t-shirt.

I have about 2.5 inches sticking out on mine.

step 2
Cut your lace leaving at least an extra half inch for sewing.

And cut it wide enough to go all the way around the sleeve with an inch for overlap.

step 3
Pin the lace to the inside of your sleeve.

step 4
Using your needle and thread carefully sew the lace to the t-shirt.

I recommend sewing into the hem on your sleeve, this way you won’t be able to see your stitches on the outside of your t-shirt.

Sew all the way around.

step 5
When you’ve sewn the lace to your t-shirt, sew the lace together on the side.

Do this for both sleeves.
