A little different kind of DIY today on the blog. Today I’m sharing this Teeth Whitening Kit from Smile Brilliant and we’re giving one whole kit away to one lucky reader!

As you know I do my best to share fun DIYs and interesting products with you on TIB. I look for things that I feel are of a quality that you will appreciate and that will be of benefit to you. When I was contacted by Smile Brilliant I was a little nervous to share my teeth with you. They are not perfectly straight nor sparkling white. If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time you may or may not have noticed that I rarely (if ever) smile where you can see my teeth. The reason for this is of course my teeth.

The nice thing about Smile Brilliant is that you make a mold of your teeth, that way your trays will fit your teeth exactly. You don’t have to have perfectly straight teeth to whiten them. This is a professional quality teeth whitening kit.

Since we’re all about DIY here, why not make your own teeth whitening trays? It’s super easy. I have to admit that I was a little nervous about getting them just right, but it’s pretty foolproof.

When you get your kit it has everything you need inside.

step 1
Mix up your Catalyst Paste and your Base Paste.

Mix them until you have a solid color, this takes less than a minute.

step 2
Press the paste mix into the tray. Make sure your paste mix is spread evenly in the tray.

Only do one tray at a time.

step 3
Position your fingers evenly around your tray and press it onto your teeth.

Press deep enough until the paste flows over your gum lines of both the front and rear teeth.

Let it sit on your teeth for at least 2 minutes.

After that time, carefully remove the tray from your teeth, let it sit for about 30 seconds and rinse with water.

Repeat for the bottom teeth.

When your trays are completely dry and hard place them in the envelope and mail them back to Smile Brilliant to make your custom whitening trays.

I was surprised at how quickly they received and returned my trays.

Using the custom whitening trays is super easy too. The whitening gel is in syringes that are easy to apply to the trays. Just add the gel, place the trays on your teeth and let them sit for up to 3 hours at a time. The trays are pretty comfortable, they don’t slip off and you can pretty much do whatever you normally do while you have them on. You may sound a little funny when you talk but no biggie. I found wearing them while watching TV worked well for me. It also kept me from snacking.

They also have desensitizing gel. You can use this after your treatment. I found this to be really handy as my teeth were a little sensitive after the whitening treatment.

I hadn’t tried anything more than whitening toothpaste before this, but I am really happy with the results and even my family noticed that my teeth were whiter.

These are the results I got after 5 applications. I did not use it everyday.
