Donations as Holiday Gifts

As an online advocate for non-profits, I often recommend making donations. There’s no better time to do this than during the holiday season. From personal experience, donations during the holidays are always a well received gift. When I choose the “perfect” present for my loved ones, giving to charities is at the top of the list. I may give them another gift as well as the donation. Even if the donation is the only gift in return I get smiles and thanks.

These type of gifts will warm hearts especially if you choose a charity that means something to the person receiving the gift. If you know about a specific belief look for a charity that embraces that belief. Something like Samaritans Purse for those of the Christian faith. Other examples – if someone was touched by childhood cancer, make a donation to Aflac Holiday Duck campaign. Is your loved one is involved in children’s nutrition a contribution to Save Our Children to help with breastfeeding would work well.
