book love: „wie eine wohnung…“

Hanging plants upside down from the ceiling – I want to try that. Or maybe I’ll start by sprucing up the bathroom mirror with rope? No, first I’m going to the cellar to find an old cable for ‘writing’ something on the living room wall.

That’s what reading Steffi’s book „Wie eine Wohnung ein Zuhause wird“ (only available in German – yet!) does to me.

There are lots of interior design books out there showcasing fabulous apartments that look like someone furnished them in Photoshop but no-one actually lives in them. This one is different. It’s filled with inspirations and good ideas that I want to try out in our home immediately. You can tell Steffi put a lot of thought into how we want to live and how to get it done. She’s interviewed some great experts and has tons of tips herself for redecorating, reorganizing, renovating. And answers to questions like: where can I buy a really good table top? Oh, and the apartments and houses she and photographer Brita Sönnichsen are showcasing are still really quite fabulous.

So, if I don’t recognise our own place in a few months time, I’m going to blame Steffi. First up: revamping a table from the flea market with a fresh powder coating…
