BY MALENE BIRGER AW14

Second on the menu of my Copenhagen Fashion Week trip was the By Malene Birger Fall/Winter 2014 show. Quite an exciting one too, since this was the first collection by Christina Exsteen, Malene Birger’s design manager who she has worked closely with since the founding of the brand, and whom is her successor…

Malene Birger’s last collection was characterised by strong powerful and mature looks – with the theme ‘Woman of the World’ - whereas this Fall/Winter 2014 collection is more playful and in a way a little bit younger. Which I personally really enjoy, and makes that there are some pieces of this collection high on my wishlist.

‘All that Jazz’ – the theme of this collection – is all about mixing luxurious materials with soft knits, and chunky hardwear. Whoever thought sequins are only for Christmas is terrible wrong… see for yourself and tell me what you think!
