COMPETITION: HealGel Body (A New Wonder Skincare Treatment?)

It's very rare to find a wonder product. One that gets you excited, makes a difference and has beauty enthusiasts universally praising its performance. HealGel has become somewhat of a wonder product since its launch in the UK, providing consumers (who were previously at the end of their tether) with a solution that helps dull and dry skin become radiant and healthy looking. I previously put the face and eye versions to the test and loved them... So much so that I'm still using them within my routine months later. Their gel-like formula provides a soothing solution that's easily absorbed, plumping skin and helping to create a smooth texture both in the immediate and long-term. I really noticed a difference to the delicate skin under my eyes and a reduction in sallowness, so when I found out HealGel were adding a 'Body' product to their range I really wanted to get to grips with it and put it to the test. Could a body product be as effective as a targeted skincare solution?

Described as an 'easily absorbed gel that works intuitively to gently nourish troublesome areas of skin,' HealGel Body claims to nurture and repair while helping to retain moisture throughout the day. Like its eye and face predecessors, the Body solution is extremely light and pleasurable to apply. Although it's an odd sensation to apply gel to limbs, it cools and nourishes the skin instantly to leave dry patches feeling soothed and smooth. I have really dry upper arms which no body lotion seems to be able to help, but HealGel Body definitely left them feeling smoother and plumper - almost like a skincare benefit normally associated with the face!

My boyfriend suffers horrendously with eczema on his arms, having to use fragrance free and super soft products to avoid irritating an already sensitive and raw area. However, when he used HealGel Body on his arms and hands they became smooth and soft - something I've never known them to be. The result is practically instantaneous, and lasts for a good few hours before the need to re-apply arises, providing a soothing solution for those of us that suffer from very dry skin. I love the texture, the result, the speed by which the product absorbs and the result on the skin - however, the size and price point really let this winning product down.

For a 100ml tube it'll set you back £39.50: an astonishing price point for anything that is intended to be used so widely. Even though this is really effective and a great addition to the range, I can't help but think they would have been much better off launching a much bigger bottle with a slight higher price point so you really feel like you're getting value for money. If you're after a product that really does make a difference and has a positive impact your confidence, then you may be willing to part with £39.00 for a tube to be used sparingly. However, for the majority of us it's an indulgence that may be a touch too much to justify before payday.

Would you pay £39.50 for a body product, even if it really made a difference?

The lovely people at HealGel have kindly given me five of their super dooper body lotions to give away. If you want to win one, all you have to do is enter via the widget below. Good luck!
