I’ve had the Pro Naturals Hair Repair System for a little over a month now and I’m ready to share my thoughts on this system. This system helps combat everyday harmful environmental stressors, for instance, harsh winter weather (aka Montreal weather). It also helps repair the damage done with styling tools, hair coloring and products with harsh chemicals that leave the hair vulnerable to breakage.

I get asked about hair care a lot and the number one piece of advice I have is to let go of bad ends. Dryness can be treated, but damaged split ends are beyond repair. Once you have healthy ends, you are ready to think about hair care.

Right before I started using this hair repair system, I cut about four inches of length from my hair because it was so dry and damaged. Beyond that, I’m very lucky to have dark and thick hair that grows quickly. I get my hair from my mom and her side of the family, so I can’t take full credit for that.

The Pro Natural Hair Repair System which is meant to be used for one week out of every month. It is effective for all hair types, as well as colour treated hair. The set includes four essential steps and retails for $159:

• 250 ml Pro Naturals Hair Mask
• 50 ml Pro Naturals Argan Hair Oil

Pro Naturals Hair Repair System claims to feature a luxurious line of products made with only the finest of natural high quality ingredients including one of the rarest oils in the world, 100% Pure Moroccan Argan Oil imported from Morocco. Additionally, it is free of silicone and sulfates.

The Pro Naturals Hair Shampoo cleanses the hair and scalp, removing built up residue left behind from the environment and hair products. Unlike harsh clarifying shampoos which contain sulfates, this did not strip the natural oils from my hair.

The Pro Naturals Hair Conditioner has a rich formula that is highly hydrating for the hair, I was almost worried that it would be to heavy. However, the Moroccan argan oil felt nourishing to the hair without weighing down my hair.

After washing and conditioning, I reach for the Pro Naturals Hair Mask leave in mask (10-25 minutes) to help repair and protect the cuticle layer. I only used this once during the week of using the treatment. However, I used it without the shampoo and conditioner two weeks after doing the complete treatment. Naturally, you can use either the hair mask or oil any time you need a boost of moisture and shine in your hair.

Lastly, the Pro Naturals Argan Hair Oil helped as a finishing oil to eliminate frizz and leave my hair looking soft and shiny. It’s ingredients include hydro cordium, silicon derivative, purely natural plant control-oil, multiple tartaric acid complexes.

My overall thoughts on the Pro Naturals Hair Repair System

I love the performance of the Pro Naturals Hair Repair System, but this would not be a review without a constructive critique.

At first glance, the price of the system threw me off. When you divide the price in four, you are paying about $39.75 per product, though the mask and oil are likely to be worth more than the shampoo and conditioner.

First, bare in mind that this system is designed to be used one week out of every month in conjunction with your already existent hair care routine. I only wash my hair every 2 to 3 days and therefore I would use this for 2 to 3 washes a month.

I accidentally lathered my scalp with the conditioner thinking it was the shampoo, oh boy! In terms of packaging, I would have liked to see differentiation between the shampoo and conditioner. The bottles are identical except for their label and it doesn’t help that both the shampoo and conditioner are both white creamy products.

Lastly, I appreciate that the Pro Naturals Argan Hair Oil is in a dark bottle with a dropped. Dark bottles are generally better for oils, because it helps keep light from penetrating the product. However, I find droppers inconvenient to work with because they can get messy.

I’m only being very critical of packaging because of the price range of the product, these were very minor complaints.
