ON THE MOVE

I’m on the move at the moment but just wanted to make a quick stop in here to keep things fresh. It is hot-hot-hot here in California. I’m back in Los Angeles after a week down at my dad’s that felt practically like Provence. Sometimes I pretend the Santa Ana winds in So Cal are the Mistral in the south of France. In my dad’s rose garden next to his pool on a hot day it’s easy to close my eyes and transport myself back to the summers I used to spend there in the Luberon…even when I’m on the move I have wanderlust for another place. You see it’s something that’s just in me, inescapable. On the verge of summer, travel seems to be on my mind so much, so I’ve hit the ground running with that as my motivation, personal and professional. My wheels are spinning with projects to pitch to people abroad, people to collaborate with, new stories from new places I want to tell you all here. As you know, it’s been hard for me to get my engine revving the past couple months, so now that I find myself inspired and believing in some of my own ideas (for professional projects I mean) for the first time in a long time I am trying to ride that wave and make the most of this. I tied up lose ends on one presentation that’s ready to pitch this week and knee deep in another for an idea just that hit me one morning last week. If somehow, either comes to fruition it might mean my bags will be packed for a while….
