Guest Post: Tribute To A Friend

Lovelies, as I mentioned in this post, I am taking some time off from blogging to decide if and/or how I want to move forward with Consider Me Lovely. In the meantime, I am honored to have some friends of mine guest post! First up is my amazing dear friend, Reiko of God’s Favorite Shoes! I totally thought she would be doing an outfit post of some sort, but she fooled me with this touching post.

Whatever Rocquelle wants, Rocquelle gets. She wants a guest post she gets a guest post. That’s how highly I think of “Little Miss Isn’t She Lovely!” Since I was given free reign over my topic for this guest post, I thought I would swoon over Rocquelle. Something she is surely rolling her eyes about right now. I’d like to “consider” (see what I did there) this post a tribute to a friend, one who just celebrated a birthday

I consider Rocquelle a true friend. My husband and I often talk about her whenever the conversation comes up about friendships. A friend who has no hidden agenda, never wants anything and is always happy to see you. I keep a close knit group of friends. I believe in ride or die friendships. Friendships that stand the test of time. Rocquelle has wiggled her way right into the center of that circle of trust. I read this blog a lot and I often read her posts and think, “Wow, she has no idea how truly awesome she is!”

Those legs!
That smile!
Her style.
Her contagious spirit.
I literally cannot think of a time when I’ve asked a favor and she didn’t come through. Often times right in the clutch.

My dearest Rocquelle, I love everything about you. Even when you call me out of my name, I still love you! Of all the things that I admire about you, I admire that you are unapologetically you. No frills. No pomp and circumstance. Even when you think you haven’t figured this thing called life out, just know that you even handle that graciously. Something I indeed learned from you. I love that no matter what I say to you (and trust me I say some crazy stuff), I know that you are judgment free. I have almost ten years on you and I can still learn a thing or two from you. So in the aftermath of your 29th birthday, know that you are loved!

Oh. There is one thing you can work on…letting friends borrow your shoes. That rule of yours SUCKS!
Just kidding!
