Pumpkins!

Tis the season for pumpkin everything! I'm not just talking pumpkin candles, pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin milkshakes...I mean, actual pumpkins, too! Earlier in October, we went to one of the best pumpkin patches the Portland area has to offer: Sauvie Island! Here's some of my favorite pictures from that little day trip...
^^This just might be my favorite picture I took of Adam that day. He was a bit nervous of the giant haystacks at first, but he warmed up after a while and was even jumping into his Daddy's arms. Also, those orange skinny jeans and that trapper hat? He just knows he's cool.
^^Oh my gosh, and our sweet baby pumpkin, Asher. Just LOOK at that face. He was so proud of himself to hold onto that little fence post and look at all the animals. In this picture he is looking at a llama, which Adam was very concerned about because "that llama is a terrible mess." (You know how hay gets all matted into animals' hair?)
^^As far as picking out pumpkins went, Adam thought the larger pumpkins were set out just for his own personal obstacle course and he snatched up any hand-size pumpkin he could find to hold and kiss them (since they were his "baby brover pumpkins). Meanwhile Asher was happy as a clam and like, "Hey, I'm just coming along for the ride!" :)
^^In the midst of all the pumpkin excitement, Adam took a moment to do this...because sometimes you just need to stop and smell the dandelions, right?
^^Have we already talked about how Asher was just the cutest little pumpkin there?!
^^A couple weeks after our visit to Sauvie Island, we decided to venture out to another pumpkin patch...this one was only about 22 seconds away from our home, though!
^^I had to recreate this picture from 2 years ago...yeah, I don't even know...
^^Adam was ecstatic when he discovered this "baby scarecrow parrot!"
After having our fair share of pumpkin patches, we decided we should probably do something with our pumpkins. My mom and Andrea came to visit for a day, so we took that opportunity to carve/decorate our pumpkins.
^^Adam painted his pumpkin for about 2 seconds until he insisted that he needed his easel and paper. Apparently, a two-year-old mind just can't grasp the concept of painting a pumpkin. He kept saying, "Paint wif me, Damma!" Of course, my mom was thrilled to be his little painting buddy.
And now the greatest thing to do with a pumpkin when you have a baby...
PUT THE BABY IN A PUMPKIN!!! Just when you thought you couldn't love pumpkin anymore.... ;) (Adam in a pumpkin back in the day.) Allllllllllrighty, now that I've spent like two months of little snippets of time here and there adding to this post, I'm all pumpkined out. It's time to move on to bigger and better things...like CHRISTMAS!!! It's the holiday season! I will try to take a million pictures of all the Christmasy things we do...and then I'll post about it this summer...haha..I kid, I kid. Kind of. Slowly but surely, I will get all caught up on this blog--I promise!
