The Next Best Thing to Botox

As a beauty editor, I come across countless skincare products promising all sorts of magic. Some have some truth to them, and others are a little more fluff, but there are also times that I’m introduced to a life-changing product that totally blows me away. The Vivierskin TMR Anti-Wrinkle Peptide Serum ($90 at Edelstein Cosmetic) is one of them.

We all know that Botox works by relaxing the targeted muscles so they can’t create wrinkles, and this little, bottled miracle works in the same manner. This serum is a topical muscle relaxant and works by relaxing the muscles (without paralyzing them) to help soften their movements. The results aren’t equal to injectables, but you’ll feel and see the results within minutes (it almost feels like you rubbed OralGel on your skin) and you’ll be able to see the full results after 2-4 weeks. It still allows for totally natural movement, but with a softer, less-intense effect. All it takes is a single drop, applied to target areas like the forehead, crowsfeet area and around the mouth- trust me, you don’t want to apply this all over.

The formula is lightweight, fragrance-free, oil-free and alcohol-free, and while it contains peptides to help reverse signs of aging, it’s actually a fantastic preventative product. It is amazing when used alone, but it can also be used in conjunction with Botox and fillers to prolong their results.

Personally, I have fallen in love with this serum and can’t go a day without it. The fine lines that had started to appear on my forehead are softened and even starting to disappear- plus I find my makeup just looks so much better throughout the day. At $90, it isn’t very cheap- but when you factor in the fact a single bottle will last you for 8-12 months, it’s a total worthwhile investment.
