Madewell's Latest Collab Will Add a Parisian Touch to Your Closet

Ever wanted your wardrobe to feel a little more French? If the answer is oui—and we hope it is!—Madewell launched an exclusive collaboration with cult French brand Sézane today and it’s a must-see (and shop!). The collection consists of 14 unfussy pieces with a cool-girl twist, including a reissue of Sézane's popular La Superbe sweatshirt, which sold out within days when it was first released in Europe. When asked about the inspiration for the collab, Sézane designer Morgane Sézalory said, "I wanted to strike a balance between our two cities, Paris and New York. I imagined pieces for two women. First, a French woman trying to 'fit' in New York—she wants to be chic, but cool and casual in that way Americans do so well. Then I thought about an American woman wanting to bring a Parisian touch to her wardrobe. The colors are quiet, heels aren’t too high." Madewell’s head designer Somsack Sikhounmuong added, "Paris street life will always hold a special place in my design psyche. Classics like a logo-less leather bag or a structured car coat worn with a certain sexy tomboy attitude—that’s very French to me."
