MAC Temperature Rising Haul: Blush, Bronzer + Golden Elixir!

Every May, MAC launches a big summer themed collection. This year it is Temperature Rising, full of products with bronze and "hot" summer colors, and complete with special bronze packaging. It has been a while since anything from a new MAC collection caught my eye, but there were a few products in this one I couldn't pass up!

Being the blush junkie that I am, I had to get Ripe for Love blush. This is a mid-tone peachy coral with a satin finish. I am a sucker for these types of colors, and really love this one. It is the perfect peachy color for my complexion.

I also picked up the Pro Longwear Bronzing Powder in Sun Dipped. I've heard amazing things about the Pro Longwear Bronzers, but have never tried them. As far as I know, these are limited edition, but do recur in limited collections from time to time... they were available in last year's summer launch, Hey, Sailor! Sun Dipped is a really great color for me: not too orange, not too shimmery, and not too dark.

Ripe for Love is really nicely pigmented, and can be worn sheer or built up to a bright peach color. This is nice because I can find ways to wear it with and without a summer tan (love year-round versatile colors!).

The formulation of Sun Dipped is phenomenal. I've used the regular MAC Bronzing Powders, and now I see why people go so bananas over the Pro Longwear version. The powder feels like butter, it is super pigmented, and it blends into the skin seamlessly. The color is great as well. I'm halfway tempted to buy a backup of this, and I never buy backups of anything. Why are these limited edition?!

I love the bronze packaging of this collection. It has a rubberized finish (think NARS packaging), and the bronze color is really beautiful. The MAC special edition packaging is always hit-or-miss for me, and this one is definitely a hit.

The third product I purchased is the Strobe Liquid in Golden Elixir. I wanted to try this out of curiosity... I've used the regular Strobe Liquid and like it, and wondered if the Golden Elixir would give me that golden goddess summer glow. It has a bronze tint and a subtle golden shimmer to it.

I've tried this three different ways: applied all over my face by itself, mixed with my foundation, and concentrated on top of my foundation as a highlight. In all three scenarios, it added a very subtle bronze tint and dewy sheen to the areas in which it was applied. My favorite method was mixing a pump with my foundation to make it more glowy, but it also looked nice worn alone too. My least favorite method was concentrating it as a highlighter on top of other face products... it was a little to concentrated for my taste. I was pleased to find that it didn't make my normal-to-dry skin look like an oily disco ball, but I wouldn't recommend this for people who have oily skin.
