Jouer Creme Eyeshadow in Feather: Review + Swatches

I've always heard wonderful things about Jouer cosmetics but haven't explored their collection until recently. Today's featured product is their Creme Eyeshadow in Feather: a light, frosty champagne pink.

The box claims that this eyeshadow contains Vitamin E and Cucumber Extract to soothe and calm the eyelids... something I've never seen before. I don't notice a soothing or calming effect upon applying this, but perhaps with continued use I will notice some sort of improvement on my eyelid skin.

Feather is a fairly generic shade. It reminds me a lot of my beloved Revlon Smoky Shadow Stick in Torch (the champagne side), and is a great everyday color for my complexion. The formulation of Feather is really smooth, not too thick and not too thin. It blends on the skin really nicely, I don't find myself tugging at my eyelids at all when applying this. I can apply a sheer wash of this, or pack it on a bit for an opaque finish.

Now comes the biggest question for cream shadows: does it crease? I found that when worn entirely by itself, this started to crease a little after a few hours. When I set it with a powder eyeshadow (I used Urban Decay Sin), it didn't crease, but faded significantly after 8 hours. This is a product that needs a good primer underneath.

Jouer Creme Eyeshadows retail for $20 (2.5g/0.09 oz) and can be purchased in select Nordstrom stores, as well as Nordstrom online.

Overall, I like this product and the color is great for everyday. If you are looking for something to wear over a primer, this is a nice product. If you are looking for a one-stop cream eyeshadow/base/primer, I would skip it!

Do you have a favorite cream eyeshadow?
xx, Allison
