What I Wore | Fall Back

WhatIWore: Good Monday morning, friends! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I’m still buzzing from my hat making workshop that I took last Thursday (photos and details coming later this week). Today I’m a little behind on laundry, so I resorted to a basic black dress that I’ve worn SO much during my pregnancy.

When: July 21, 2014

What:
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Northern Lights’
Scarf: Target (older style)
Dress: ASOS Maternity (similar)
Belt: LOFT (older style)
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (similar)
Shoes: Target

Where: Work session at my local coffee shop

I do have a handful of maternity dresses we haven’t shot outfit photos of yet and I think once I cycle my way through those I’ll start winding down in anticipation of my maternity leave. Fatigue is like my constant companion these days so I’ve only got enough energy to be up and about for 3-4 hours a day. I know, sounds pathetic, but I’m just listening to my body and baby and doing as much as possible to rest up while I can.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how I’ll handle the weeks and months after our baby’s birthday and I’ve settled on some pre-planned posts that I’m working on now along with an occasional outfit photo when I’m up to it. I’m really excited to transition into motherhood as a full time job for the first part of my child’s life. I don’t want to say “see ya in 6 months!” but I also don’t want to promise to be posting at any normal schedule.

I feel so strongly about pre and post natal care (and more specifically how the US ranks up against the rest of the world in those departments) that I’d be talking out of both sides of my mouth if I championed better maternity leaves and then didn’t take one myself. Adam thinks I’ll want to blog, hobby style, and that I shouldn’t hold myself back. We’ll just see how it goes as I do my best!

For my overseas readers - what are maternity leaves like in your country? I’d love to hear about them! Please jump to my facebook page to share!
