DIY Home Bar built from BILLY bookcases

A gorgeous bar from tall and short BILLY bookcases. The tall ones form the storage cabinets for the bottles, nothing much hacked here.

On to the bar counter … the bones are 2 shorter BILLY bookcases and a walnut kitchen counter also ordered from IKEA. To stabilize the structure, some 45mm x 75mm wooden beams purchased from the local hardware store were measured, cut and fixed directly to the bookshelves. Made a built in foot rest too.

Next the entire structure is clad in beautiful floorboards from Jem & Fix. This went quite speedily and just required some sawing and nailing. The boards clip together very neatly and look beautiful once joined.

The last step was to suspend the large bamboo lampshades, ROTVIK, over the counter. Stock up and cheers!
