The Week That Was: Memorial Day 2013 Edition

Though summer is a month away in the Northern Hemisphere, the official start of the season in the United States is Memorial Day weekend. And though this weekend is marked by the double-bill of the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 (with the Monaco Grand Prix as their opening act), family outings, and all the things indicate summer’s arrival, Memorial Day itself must be kept for those served through the ultimate sacrifice.

Here is what you might have missed this week…

Until we meet again, I leave you with “Rooster” by Alice in Chains from their 1992 album “Dirt.” The song is about guitarist Jerry Cantrell’s father’s experience in the Vietnam War as a member of the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division. All the best to you. Semper Fi.
