Through the Rearview: May 2013
This has not been the best month of my life, if my lack of posting is anything to go by. On the plus side, the avenue will remain open for the foreseeable future. On the minus, my time in Louisville may be drawing to a close.
Before we go into the future, let us have one final look upon the month that was May 2013…
- Paid tribute to Ray Manzarek and a band of departed metal masters
- Took you with me to my first-ever Kentucky Derby party
- Brought anarchy to the Met Gala
- Experienced my first Pegasus Parade
- Celebrated five years of buying local
- Found vindication through H&M’s official announcement of their arrival in Louisville
- And finally, took in the sights and sounds of the 2013 Beatersville Car and Bike Show
So, about my time in this city coming to an end…
Right now, I’ve sought shelter with my family under one condition: That I quickly find a job that pays steadily and consistently, and I come through with a paycheck, or I will be given a one-way bus ticket to the city of my choosing at the end of 30 days.
The bright side is that I won’t be in a homeless shelter, a place not exactly friendly to anyone transgender in most cases.
Thus, it’s now or never, I must do myself and my family proud, or crash and burn trying.
