Dior Le Vernis Autumn 2014

A new season usually means some big changes in the beauty cabinet. One of the things I usually start with is the colours that go on my nails as it is more subtle than suddenly wearing a berry lip instead of the bright coral one from last week.

These pretty shades from Dior are all I’ve been wearing throughout the month of September, and that sure didn’t go by unnoticed. They’re part of the new shade selection Dior recently launched. A couple of them belong to the limited edition Autumn 2014 collection, which is a range of 5 super elegant shades for Autumn (796 Carré Bleu, 206 Pied-De-Poule, 254 Rose Tutu, 902 Bar and 853 Massaï) and I can honestly say I love them all. They’re absolutely stunning and perfect for a night out.

I’ve swatched some of the colours below, together with a couple from the permanent collection, also not to be missed since the quality of Dior polishes is pretty good! I’m a big fan of the broad brush, it makes applying the polish so much faster and easier!

121 Lili: pale nude with a tiny hint of peach
775 Star: bright red with a dash of fuchsia
796 Carré Bleu: a midnight blue (limited edition Fall 2014)
902 Bar: a pitch black (limited edition Fall 2014)

Swatches:

When I first laid my eyes on the collection, 902 Bar was literally all I could see. A gorgeous pitch black shade that was completely opaque in 2 coats = love. But then I tried 121 Lili, a little anxiously since nudes and pale skin are a difficult combination, but it seemed to match my skin perfectly. I got so many compliments when I wore this. Yep it’s decided; I’m holding onto this one for all eternity. The same goes for 796 Carré Bleu, which is a pretty sophisticated deep blue shade, perfect to wear for a chic event. I believe it’s a great alternative to the classic red nails. The only shade out of these 4 I don’t see myself wearing as much is 775 Star. It’s pretty for sure, but reds and I, we don’t really match that well. I just don’t feel comfortable with red nails. It’s just not me.

Dior Le Vernis € 23,70 now available at the perfumery/ beauty counter.
