Review: Vogue Paris June/July 2014 Issue
By Heather Dunhill

Well, hello sunshine…

This, my style comrades, is why those of us with an aesthetically drawn eye buy magazines. But beyond us, it’s certain to get the attention of the doubtful heads who turn their noses up at fashion as superficial drudge.

No surprise when you learn that the indomitable duo of Inez & Vinoodh master planned "L'extase," the red-and-white-all-over editorial with Emmanuelle Alt as stylist, a woman who has no doubt gotten her groove back and is deftly maneuvering all things Vogue Paris.

Let’s be honest, it’s not such an incredibly astonishing feat to turn Russian born model Natasha Poly, who’s hot off the red carpets of Cannes, into the epitome of the sexy siren. But it’s the subtlety of the dynamic millésime details; simplicity was no accident here. This June/July cover is the perfect summer storm collaboration of a team that hit all the right head turning notes from the location to the hot white lace ankle socks. Christiaan’s effortlessly chic, from the beach hair coupled with Lisa Butler’s take on seaside minimally divine beauty of neutral palette with scarlet lip to match that superb Herve Leger bikini.

The la vie en rose water world permeates the cover that is truly everything. They have surreptitiously enveloped her in the heat, the humidity, and the warm summer rays with all of the beautifully sublime sexiness of summer. It’s quite possible that Vogue Paris may have more influence on international tropical travel with this issue than Kimye did with their wedding.

By the way, I haven’t been able to bring myself to turn inside one of my fave fashion codas and I’m a major Jeff Koons fan and love all things Lou Doillon. Even that can’t tempt me to flip.the.page… yet.
